IN THE SPIRIT: FEATURING JOHN ESPOSITO

TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF:

Montauk native. Red wine enthusiast, craft beer connoisseur. 13 years behind the pine and still loving every minute of it.

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR MOST RECENT PROJECTS?

We've recently launched "Wölffer Wednesday's" over at Wölffer Kitchen in Sag Harbor. Come enjoy some truly talented local musicians along with our happy hour and prix-fixe specials and turn hump day into your new favorite day of the week!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE RECIPE YOU HAVE COME UP WITH USING AN AJC PRODUCT? WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND IT?

One of our most popular cocktails, The Beekeeper, is a delicious vodka-based libation that uses AJC's Ginger Gershwin. Add in some local lavender honey, fresh lemon juice, and top with a little club soda, and you have the perfect sip that will take you back to warm, sunny days no matter what season it is.

WHEN YOU ARE COMING UP WITH NEW DRINKS, DO YOU HAVE A SOURCE(S) FOR INSPIRATION?

It's no secret that the natural beauty here on the East End is endless. There is a wonderful ethos of respect for the land and sea and all that it provides us, and it really permeates the restaurant industry out here. My admiration for local farmers, fishermen, and chefs is what inspires me to create cocktails worthy of the menus they help shape.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BAR, WHAT DAY OF THE WEEK DO YOU RECOMMEND IT, AND WHAT KIND OF EXPERIENCE CAN A VISITOR EXPECT?

My favorite bar would have to be Liar's Saloon. You can go in any day of the week and you're guaranteed to have an experience you will never forget!

WHAT INFO ABOUT COCKTAILS DO MOST PEOPLE MAKING DRINKS AT HOME NOT KNOW THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL TO THEM?

It's all about balance. Same as in life.

FAVORITE AJC FLAVOR?

Ginger Gershwin.
